Summer Frog Punch Art 12x12 Layout

If you came to my scrapbook class last week you would have this adorable 12x12 scrapbook layout.  Where were you??  ;-)

I found this cute punch art frog at Stamp & Scrap with Frenchie.  I thought he would look great on a scrapbook page!  These bright summer colors (Wild Wasabi, Tangerine Tango, Bashful Blue and Pacific Point) just make me smile. 

The other page features a flower made from the Flower Folds Bigz Die.

Play Date Birthday Card

I was playing with my new Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch (Summer Mini Catalog) and decided to make some birthday gift bows. I just cut the blossom in half!

The color scheme was inspired by the Play Date Designer Series Paper (retiring--available now only while supplies last) that I recently received from a sweet demo in CA (hi Debra!).

I added lots of Dazzling Diamond glitter (as usual!!).

Build a Bear Birthday Card

 

Here's some birthday wishes from a sweet little Build-a-Bear!  I used the calendar stamp from "Travel Log" to create her sign.  Love the rhinestone necklace!!

This bright polka-dot pattern from the "Celebrations" Designer Series Paper is only available now while supplies last.  Be sure to get your pack before it's gone!

 

Today was the last day of school for us--this year went by so fast!  The boys are very excited to go to Cub Scout camp next week.

You're a Hoot 12x12 Layout

Yesterday was my birthday... I hoped to at least get my cake and ice cream before all the predictions came true.  I guess since as we are all still here today I'll share a scrapbook layout with you!  :-)

The background of this 12x12 layout is really quite simple, but those punch art owls still make me smile  every time I put one together.  I think adding wings to them really gives them more personality --like in this card.

 

 

The "hoot" is a computer font that I printed with My Digital Studio and cut out from Wild Wasabi card stock.

Punch Art Ship's Wheel Card

Do you like my new blog header?  I made it using the new Hostess Digital Content option in the 2011 Summer Mini Catalog called "Cheerful Treat" (pg. 4).  I had so much fun putting it together in My Digital Studio! The stitching is from the "Simple Stitches and Corners" digital file (126025) that was just released on Tuesday.

Here's another card using "The Open Sea" stamp set.  I stamped my images and added the Jumbo eyelet and the ribbon--but the card still needed something else.  So I came up with the idea of this punch art ship's wheel. 

Here are the easy steps:

1.  Use the Snowflake Punch on Crumb Cake card stock.

2.  Cut off all the angled parts of the snowflake.

3.  Use the 1" Circle Punch on Crumb Cake card stock.

4.  Turn the 1 1/4" Circle Punch upside down and center it around the previously punched area to create a ring.

5.  Optional--I sponged the 2 pieces with Early Espresso Classic Ink.

6.  Layer the ring over the trimmed snowflake. 

7.  Optional--Add a tiny brad from Vintage Trinkets in the center of the wheel.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day!  I love my stamping career--but being a Mom to these 2 boys is the best job I've ever had.  :-) 

 

 My last Scrapbook class put together this 12x12 layout for the occasion:

We used the "Elegant Lines" Embossing Folder and a mix of patterns from the "Elegant Soiree" Designer Series Paper on these pages.    I used a computer font to create the title.

Easter Chick 6x6 Punch Art Layout

Happy Easter!  I'm so happy to have a house full of relatives this year.  Some are from Texas but some are from Connecticut!  They are thrilled to finally be out of the snow and into some warm and sunny weather. 

I wanted to take a few minutes to share this fun punch art Easter layout with you.  The chick was inspired by this card from Mary Jo Price-Williams. I thought he was just adorable! 

The eggs are punched from Sweet Stitches Designer Series Paper. If you are wondering about the punched border on the yellow egg, I did a quick tutorial on this Easter Buddies post.

Easter Buddies Punch Art Card

It just wouldn't be Easter time without a punch art bunny!  I decided to re-do a card from 2009 with current products--Sweet Stitches Designer Series Paper and Melon Mambo Pompom Trim.

The little eggs needed some decorating...I accidentally ended up with a cute tiny trim from the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch.  Here's how I did it:

1.  Punch a length of trim as you normally would with the border punch.

2.  Turn the punch upside down and insert the punched section so the bottom row of holes on the paper match up with the top row of holes on the punch.

3.  I've laid the punched paper on top of the punch here so you can see how far to insert it.

 

4.  Repeat the punching until you get the length you need!

Speaking of eggs, has anyone else been checking in on the live stream video of the eagles in Iowa?  They had 3 eggs and the last one hatched a few days ago.  You can also watch the videos of the hatches.  My kids and I have had fun watching them--the baby birds are getting very active!

Haunted Hilltop Card

Punches are my very favorites of the Stampin' Up! products.  I can't imagine creating cards without them!  So--I'm always thrilled to find a new, creative way to use my punches.  When I came across a card by Tammy Howell that used the Ornament punch to create a spooky hillside scene I knew I wanted to "CASE" the card for my class.  So clever!!! 

Tammy's card has a great brayered background but I opted for something simpler for class. I used the Spider Web Embossing Folder after I sponged on a big shimmery moon (Frost White Shimmer Paint).  How creepy would it be to live under a giant spiderweb??

Owl Anniversary Card

I'm still having fun with my SU Owl punch! This is one of those cards that started out to be pretty basic so I could use it for a class--but then I kept adding....and adding....and adding.  First a little scallop border.  Then some wings on the owls (I used the biggest flower from the Boho Blossoms punch).  Wait--it needs some stuff on the top half.  I even gave Mrs. Owl a wedding ring! 

I'm proud of my class for getting through this one--it could have been ugly!

The "A Word For You" stamp set is my favorite greeting set in the new catalog.  I think this font is super-cute.
