MDS Spooky Skeleton Card

Here I go again---pushing those images from My Digital Studio to the limits.  Remember when I did the same thing with this card?  That's the great thing about digital papercrafting--you can make it however big or small you want to! 

This skeleton is from the "Piece of Poison" digital download (Item 125607).  The same set is available in traditional stamps (Holiday Mini Catalog).

To give the card an eerie feel I added a swirl of Mica Flakes to the background.  The skeleton's head is popped up off the card, too.

I've been working on Halloween costumes for my boys...looks like they have settled on Perry the Platypus and Google Map Man.  Let's see if I can pull those off!

Spooky Web Card

 

Oh, I am SO ready for fall!  Look at these itty bitty pumpkins from the "Gift Givers" stamp set--aren't they the cutest?  I stamped them on Cajun Craze card stock and cut them out---then glued them onto the stamped image on Very Vanilla card stock.

I put this card together using the black card stock background embossed with the "Spider Web" folder....but it looked so bland.   Then I thought of the new "Dazzling Details" glitter glue---wowza!  Tracing over the web with the glue totally changed the card.

Haunted Hilltop Card

Punches are my very favorites of the Stampin' Up! products.  I can't imagine creating cards without them!  So--I'm always thrilled to find a new, creative way to use my punches.  When I came across a card by Tammy Howell that used the Ornament punch to create a spooky hillside scene I knew I wanted to "CASE" the card for my class.  So clever!!! 

Tammy's card has a great brayered background but I opted for something simpler for class. I used the Spider Web Embossing Folder after I sponged on a big shimmery moon (Frost White Shimmer Paint).  How creepy would it be to live under a giant spiderweb??

Hand Sanitizer Holder

 
This cute container holds a mini hand sanitizer from Bath & Body Works perfectly.  After seeing several versions on the web I had to try one! 

The tutorial I used is available on Pink Buckaroo Designs  Erica has several cute designs using SU stamps and accessories for you to see. 

There's sparkle that doesn't show up well on camera--the moon on my project is spritzed with Smooch Spray and I used a black Glimmer Brad!  And I added a "belly band"  to hold the front flap closed.

I'm planning to do a lot more stamping next week.  My boys have been off school for their 2 week Fall Break and we've been having so much fun!  My husband just got back from a trip to Jordan so we will be taking a few "family fun" days before the break is over.

One Last Halloween Card

Boo!  This cute shimmery ghost is here to wish you a Happy Halloween.  

I created the green background by mixing Frost White Shimmer Paint with Green Galore Reinker and painting it across Whisper White cardstock. Let the paint dry completely before stamping on it.

The ghost is made in the same way...I painted Frost White Shimmer Paint over Whisper White cardstock.  After it dried I stamped the ghost image and cut it out.

The Modern Label punch reveals my holiday message through the card front:

Haunting Hill Card

Here's one of the cards we made at my technique class last night.  We added some foil tape (see the prior post for more info) to make this card a real eye-catcher.

Cool Girl Tool

My boys love to go with their Dad to the "cool guy store" a.k.a. Home Depot or Lowes.  They think it's great to come home with some new cool guy tools.  I was delighted the first time my littlest guy saw my Sizzix Big Shot and said "I didn't know there were cool girl tools"! 

Maybe I can't do major home improvement with my die cutting machine... but I can use some materials from the garage with my Big Shot to get terrific results on my projects!  For example....foil tape.  It's used on air conditioning vents.  I swiped a roll from my husband's workbench last year when I got my first embossing plate (hope he hasn't been looking for it!).  Wow!  It embosses so nicely...and it already has adhesive on it...just peel and stick.

I used the new Petals a Plenty Embossing folder on the 4"x4" card above.  It really gives the card a rich look.

Then I tried it on a Halloween card:

What do you think?  Pretty cool! I'll have to take another picture tomorrow in natural light--I think the bright silver foil threw off my camera because the Lovely Lilac paper looks so washed out.

Sweet Treats Pumpkin Card

The new Stampin' Up! Treat Cups make it so simple (and fun) to share something sweet...

A happy little Halloween pumpkin pops right out of this 4"x4" card.

I just used the Autumn Harvest stamp set with Jet Black Stazon Ink to put a cute pumpkin face on one of the new plastic treat cups.   Then I edged it with black Chunky Glitter and filled it with orange Reese's Pieces. 

Be sure to put a support under the cup when you stamp so it doesn't flex.  I used one of the SU fine glitter jars:

Although this is my own design, Stampin' Up! offers a great stamp set, "Sweet Centers" that coordinates perfectly with the Sweet Treat Cups.  It includes images for Halloween, Christmas and Valentine's Day! You can find it on page 6 and 7 of the Holiday Mini Catalog.
