Easter Chick 6x6 Punch Art Layout

Happy Easter!  I'm so happy to have a house full of relatives this year.  Some are from Texas but some are from Connecticut!  They are thrilled to finally be out of the snow and into some warm and sunny weather. 

I wanted to take a few minutes to share this fun punch art Easter layout with you.  The chick was inspired by this card from Mary Jo Price-Williams. I thought he was just adorable! 

The eggs are punched from Sweet Stitches Designer Series Paper. If you are wondering about the punched border on the yellow egg, I did a quick tutorial on this Easter Buddies post.

Easter Buddies Punch Art Card

It just wouldn't be Easter time without a punch art bunny!  I decided to re-do a card from 2009 with current products--Sweet Stitches Designer Series Paper and Melon Mambo Pompom Trim.

The little eggs needed some decorating...I accidentally ended up with a cute tiny trim from the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch.  Here's how I did it:

1.  Punch a length of trim as you normally would with the border punch.

2.  Turn the punch upside down and insert the punched section so the bottom row of holes on the paper match up with the top row of holes on the punch.

3.  I've laid the punched paper on top of the punch here so you can see how far to insert it.

 

4.  Repeat the punching until you get the length you need!

Speaking of eggs, has anyone else been checking in on the live stream video of the eagles in Iowa?  They had 3 eggs and the last one hatched a few days ago.  You can also watch the videos of the hatches.  My kids and I have had fun watching them--the baby birds are getting very active!

Elegant Easter 6x6 Scrapbook Layout

A wet and cold Spring Break in Nashville has me looking forward to Easter and spring weather!  I adore the "Chocolate Bunny" stamp and by heat embossing him he looks quite YUMMY!  

I used some subtle dry embossing along the edges of this layout with the "Dots" Classy Brass Template.  Dry embossing is a great technique that I need to use more often!

Hip Hop Star

We had so much fun at my monthly Technique class yesterday in the Nashville area.  A couple Easter projects were featured....

Here's a card I designed that puts the "spotlight" on an adorable bunny from the Stampin' Up set "Eight Great Greetings".  I added some glitter on his ears and buttons to give him some bling...

Basket For Two

 

I had so much fun working on the project in my last post (Bunny Basket) that I decided to put the bunny IN the basket this time.  I was inspired by a variety of punch art cards that I have seen on various papercrafting websites...and here is my attempt!  Once again I used the Sizzix Bigz Baskets & Blooms Die (exclusive to Stampin' Up!) but this time I attached it to a card for a great 3-D look.  To see how I modified the basket die to fit on the card look here.

I didn't have an Easter greeting to use here, but I thought the "just the 2 of us" from Many Happy Returns worked just fine!  And the Easter basket grass is a great finishing touch.

Big Shot Bunny Basket

    

I was browsing through the Dollar Spot at Target yesterday when I saw a very cute felt bunny bag.  I thought it would be fun for my son's preschool friends...but even at $1 that adds up!  Then I realized the shape was the same as the Stampin' Up! Bigz Baskets and Blooms Die--theirs was just a little bit larger.  So here's my paper version...the Big Shot Bella Bunny Basket (can you say that three times fast??).  Quick and easy using the Big Shot and assorted punches.

FYI:  I could also make this project from felt like my inspiration basket!  The Sizzix Bigz Dies cut through a huge variety of materials. Check out the approved materials list here.
