I am so ready for summer. No more homework to supervise, lunches to pack, 5:30 alarm clocks to smack! Guess that's why this 6x6 travel layout came together so easily--I'm switching to vacation mode. :-)
The new Baker's Twine from the Summer Mini Catalog is such a fun accent....I'm using it like crazy:
I chose the bicycle icon to put on the little travel map. My husband is training for a bike ride across Ohio---in JULY. Ugh. So I can put some of those pics on here. I already have a 12x12 Travel Log layout for our family vacation photos that I will share soon.
I used the Medium Jewelry Punch to create the little banners across the bottom of the pages. Here's how to do it:
1. Stamp the "People/Places/Things" stamp on a larger rectangle of cardstock
2. Cut between the words leaving just a small edge of cardstock on each side of the letters:
3. Separate them into strips:
4. Turn your Jewelry punch upside down. Turn one of the paper strips so the letters are upside down and slip it into the punch. Pull the end of the strip up out of the punch area (you may need to use a pair of scissors for this):
5. Feed the strip of cardstock into the punch until the top of the tag shape is just beyond the stamped words and punch:
6. Use your paper snips to notch the other end of the strip.

What great scrap book pages Melanie! I love your instructions for extending the length of the tags produced by the Jewelry tag punch. I just got mine so the timing was perfect for giving it another use besides fence pickets and jewlery tags. Thanks so much! Always love seeing your blog.

Love the layout. I may just have to case this. Both my daughter and son-in-law race. They are going to Paris to be in the Tour de France this year. Of course not the whole race but whatever part they let people participate in. Have a great day.

Cute cute pages, I had that stamp set on my order and then took it off to get something else.. you are making me sorry I did that. lol. I love that mini tag thing, I have used it so many times, your pictures for it are perfect!
